# Data Management

## Ingest

#### Files

Navigate to [Atomscale](https://atomcloud.atomicdatasciences.com) and log in with your account information. Send us an email at <support@atomscale.ai> if you ever have issues with your account.

Go to the "Data Management" page and upload your experimental data

Drag and drop files into the dropzone or browse your file explorer. Assign files to a physical sample instance and verify the auto-detected characterization data type. Click upload and you will see a green checkmark and your data will be catalogued, kicking off the analysis steps.

#### Real-Time

Screen capture functionality enables real-time streaming of RHEED data.

Atomscale streaming functionality can be run on any internet connected computer, allowing users to record a live RHEED camera feed, store the data and receive a subsampling of processed frames in near real-time. This enables quantified RHEED feedback during processing.

When configuring a streaming session, you can select the capture region by dragging around the blue box.

You can select **Save Current Frame** for image capture, or **Start Recording** a video. Atomscale will record a video in the background while also capturing individual frames at regular intervals (currently 10s) to be processed and quantified immediately.

Manually and automatically captured frames will be processed and returned to populate the user's feed with individual processed patterns as well as time series plots providing in-process feedback on the evolution of the diffraction pattern.

When the stream is complete the full video will be analyzed and stored in your account for later analysis.

## Annotate

Atomscale contextualizes data with key metadata for advanced materials synthesis. Users also have the option to apply pre-defined and custom labels to data on a wide range of dimension. This is made possibly by a powerful data structure representing real-world concepts like Physical Samples. Schemas are outlined in [Metadata Schemas](/home/product-guides/data-management/metadata-schemas.md)

#### Adding and Editing Metadata Resources

1. Click **`Physical Samples`** to create and edit physical samples OR **`Metadata`** to create and edit metadata resources such as Target Materials and Instruments.
2. Fill in the modal prompts to populate the new metadata resource.

## Analyze

There are several ways to interact with your data on Atomscale

**Workspace**: Add data items to your workspace to create an on-the-fly collection of data for review and analysis. Click on the workspace icon next to any data object, to add.
